The potential displacement of families and disruption of local economies will not only jeopardize education but also perpetuate social and economic inequalities. We stand united in advocating for justice and equity, ensuring that the voices of marginalized communities are heard and respected. As representatives of the vibrant climate students movement in Uganda, we recognize the urgency of addressing the dire consequences that the EACOP project poses. Our collective voices speak for the countless young minds who are deeply concerned.

As Usual the police blocked access for students to have their demands reach the office of the speaker, branding materials including banners were confiscated and the local press ordered not to air out any news surrounding this action. One student was arrested whose whereabouts remain unknown.

we call upon the government and Total Energies not to silence dissent voices coming up and speaking against this deadly pipeline project.
