Solidarity With Brave UK Citizens Taking Action in the #BigOne Protest

Students Against Eacop Movement stands in solidarity with thousands of UK Citizens participating Today in one of the mega protests dubbed the #Bigone organized by Extinction Rebellion together with hundreds of Climate groups that are supporting this cause. The brave UK Citizens will be calling upon the Rishi Sunak government and leading funders of the Climate crisis to stop investing in fossil fuels and establishment of new coal plants and a dire need to respond to the global call for a transition from fossil fuels to the use of clean energy.

This protest comes at a time when the UK parliament recently passed the Public Order Act that focuses on cracking down dissent voices and restricting millions from exercising their civil rights but as well a target of suppression to many activists that are currently utilizing Civil Disobedience as a tool to exert pressure to the government especially those under the Just Stop Oil Movement in UK.

As a movement that has been a victim of such a bill that was introduced in 2013 by our repressive regime and has since then been used by the government as an instrument of Cracking down human rights and climate activists, its our moral duty to exercise our solidarity with the extraordinary UK Citizens.

  1. As an activist in Britain against EACOP I would like to say how touched I am that Ugandan students on the front line of action against EACOP are standing in solidarity as we are with you, our dear friends across the globe💚 🌎 💚
